Tunic :: c/o Belly Dance Maternity // Sweater :: Target // Jeans :: Thrifted // Bag :: Lily Jade

I’m in the home stretch now! Baby girl could arrive any day now, but I’m hoping she cooks just a little longer because Andy and I are buckling down and finally getting our to-do list checked off.  Every single day lately has been jam packed with task lists in addition to now seeing my midwife weekly and keeping Parker busy.

I’m feeling surprisingly energized.  I definitely feel like I’m ready to pop any day now; my contractions sometimes stop me in my tracks.  I didn’t have any Braxton Hicks with Parker until the day before going into labor, so it’s caught me off guard how early they’ve started with this pregnancy.  I’ve had crazy insomnia every night because my mind has been racing thinking of all the change we’re about to go through.

We’ve been having crazy hot weather which is pretty challenging when you’re 9 months pregnant.  This week we bought a portable AC for our bedroom which has helped tremendously, in addition, we decided to salvage our pool and just forgo buying a new heater and prayed a simple solar blanket would help keep the pool at a decent temperature.  And it worked! I’ve been spending the hot afternoons soaking in the pool while Parker naps and it’s been such a blessing as my legs and feet start to swell up pretty bad in the afternoons.

I’m really trying to make an effort with how I look when I get out of the house.  I still want to look cute for my husband, and I feel much better about myself when I get dressed and throw on a bit of makeup.  My first pregnancy I waited so long to buy maternity clothing which was just silly.  I only had a few items and by the end of my pregnancy they were all too small and had stains on the belly.  This pregnancy I invested in maternity clothing much sooner to get more wear out of it.  I’m telling you, you do not want to rotate the same maternity items week after week; you just start to feel blah. So if you’re pregnant, I highly suggest looking into Belly Dance Maternity.   They have so many maternity items that are actually cute.  Living in the PNW, most of the maternity items I’ve purchased are for cooler weather, but summer is in full swing and I needed a top to help me get through the peak of summer at the peak of my pregnancy.  The mornings sometimes still have a bit of a chill to them, so I love that I can just throw a sweater over this sleeveless tunic, and by afternoon switch out my jeans for shorts.

I’ve partnered with Belly Dance Maternity for you to win a $25 voucher–great for nursing mamas too! But if you can’t wait, they’ve generously offered a 20% off code for your order though July 19th. Promo code: discjuly
