10 more weeks to go!! It seems so far yet so close. I’m actually quite anxious for baby girl to get here–I’m really hoping she comes early because lets face it, all the projects we haven’t started don’t really matter. I’m pretty much useless in the third trimester and wouldn’t be able to help much with anything anyway!
It’s been a tough week but I’ve been able to hang on to my sanity by the grace of God. Getting back from vacation has taken some adjusting. Andy has been swamped at work so I’ve gotten a taste of single parenting this week. Holy smokes it’s hard. I’m also still sick. I’m just beside myself as to why these colds are lasting more than 3 weeks–I’m on antibiotics but they don’t seem to be helping. What has helped is that despite the weather forecast of gloom and rain, it’s been rather pleasant in the PNW. I’ve been able to get out of the house with Parker so she can burn her energy off.
I’m starting to notice some slight swelling in my hands and feet…I should probably take my wedding ring off soon. I’m also feeling some numbness in my hands which is exactly the same time I started to get pregnancy induced carpel tunnel with Parker. I’m hoping it doesn’t progress like it did the first time around. I’ve gained about 25 pounds so far, which is about 5 pounds less than were I was with Parker at this stage. I gained a total of 40 pounds with Parker, and I’m guessing I’ll be close to the same with this little one–and you know what, I’m totally ok with it.
My poor back is suffering. I tend to be OK during the day, but by evening I’m really hurting. I have another chiropractic appointment tomorrow and I really have to force myself to try and take it easy. But the reality of picking up a close to 30 pound toddler PLUS all the crap she throws/leaves on the floor all day is hard to avoid. I’ve been asking Andy for a Roomba vacuum cleaner since Parker was born and I think I’m finally getting one for my birthday this year! You know you’re getting old when you’re EXCITED about a vacuum cleaner.
Do you remember your third trimester? How did you keep yourself comfortable at this stage?
